Day 1 - Fri: Depart for Scotland

Depart your home city on an overnight flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meals as you start your vacation.
Day 2 - Sat: Glasgow Highlands

Welcome to Glasgow, Scotland! Meet you CIE Tours driver/guide at Glasgow Airport and take a group transfer to your hotel, departing at 8:00 am, 10:30 am or 12:00 noon. If you arrive later you must transfer to the hotel at your own expense. At 3:00 pm discover the main attractions of Glasgow including George Square with it's Victorian City Chambers and nearby Glasgow Cathedral. Visit the famous Burrell Collection with its many treasures of art before returning to your hotel. Join your fellow travelers over a welcoming drink before dinner is served in your hotel. (D)

Day 3 - Sun: Loch Lomand & Loch Ness Cruise

Depart Glasgow and drive beside Loch Lomond for views across the water of the surrounding hills. Drive over the haunting Rannach Moor and through Glencoe, notorious for the massacre of the Clan Macdonald by the Campbells. Continue through Fort William and stop at Spean Bridge Woollen Mills, which offers a good selection of quality Scottish goods. Continue to Fort Augustos and cruise Loch Ness to admire enchanting views of the hills and perhaps see the famous monster. Motor alongside the loch and pause to view Culloden Battlefield before heading to Nailm for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 4 - Mon: Blair Atholl & Stirling Castle

Head through the scenic Grampian Mountains to Blair Atholl to visit 13th century Blair Castle, home of the Earls and Dukes of Atholl. This stately mansion contains a variety of portraits, china and armor to show the life of Scottish nobility. Nearby visit Blair Atholl Distillery to learn about the creation of whisky and enjoy a sample. Continue south to Shirling for a guided tour around Stirling Castle, captured by William "Braveheart" Wallace from the English in 1297 and where Mary, Queen of Scots, spent some years. In Edinburg attend a Scottish cabaret where you dine on local specialties, including haggis, and enjoy traditional music and storytelling. (B, D)

Day 5 - Tue: Edinburg Sightseeing

Take a morning tour of the principal sights of this elegant Georgian city. Drive along Princes Street and through the 200-year-old New Town. See the medieval section of the city and visit Edinburg Castle which dominates the city center and contains many interesting exhibits. The afternoon is free for further sightseeing or shopping and in the evening sample Edinburgh's restaurants or pubs. On departures from August 1st to 15th see the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo (B)
Day 6 - Wed: Travel to Dublin

Transfer to Glasgow Airport for the one-hour flight to Dublin. (Glasgow to Dublin flight is not included in land only price - please ensure that you an airline ticket for this segment.) On arrival in Dublin Airport go the the CIE Tours desk in the Arrival Hall to arrange a transfer to your hotel. At 2:00 pm tour Dublin with visits to Dublin Castle to see the State Apartments and also to the Guinness Storehouse to learn about and sample the famous black stout. Dine at Doyle's Irish Cabaret and see their famous lighthearted show. (B, D)

Day 7 - Thu: The Blarney Castle & Killarney

See a variety of scenery today as you depart Dublin and drive through rich farm country and busy market towns. Stop at a sheep farm near Cashel to sample some home-baked scones with tea and learn a little about Irish farming. Just outside Cork visit Blarney Castle where you have an opportunity to acquire the gift of eloquence by kissing the famous stone. Continue towards the mountainous county of Kerry and into Killarney. After dinner, perhaps explore one of Killarney's famous singing pubs. (B, D)
Day 8 - Fri: Ring of Kerry Tour

Dress comfortably for a jaunting car tour which will transport you along the shores of Muckross Lake for a guided tour of the 19th century Muckross House. Then embark on Ireland's most popular scenic drive, the Ring of Kerry, by skirting Ireland's highest mountains, the Macgillycuddy's Reeks. Your route passes through Glenbeigh, with palm trees and beautiful beaches, remote Waterville, and the colorful village of Sneem. Head back towards Killarney through Moll's Gap in time for dinner. (B, D)

Day 9 - Sat: Cliffs of Moher & Bunratty Castle

Depart Killarney and travel to tarbert to take the ferry across the River Shannon. Your tour continues along the Clare coast to the Cliffs of Moher which rise 700 feet above the Atlantic. Drive to the Shannonside region to check into your hotel. This evening's banquet and evocative entertainment in Bunratty Castle will carry you in spirit to the Middle-Ages. (B, D)
Day 10 - Sun: Shannon Airport & Dublin

This morning some of you transfer to Shannon Airport for return flights the the United States. If you wish to end your tour in Dublin, you will drive through pleasant scenery of the midland region. The tour concludes at Dublin Airport at about 4:00 pm or in teh city center at 4:30 pm (B)
